Dr. Fabulous (Wednesday Updates)

This is Dr. Fabulous and my parents on the best day of their lives...the day I was born!!! He's been so great to my parents. Supporting them and caring for them through this crazy time...what a gift!!!
Speaking of gifts, my mom got to experience changing my diaper with a BIG gift in it for the first time.
Speaking of first times...I ate 6 milliliters for the first time today!!!
Speaking of absolutely nothing to do with any of that...I have a HERNIA...and the only way to get rid of it is through surgery. This is especially sad because I will have to go back to Children's again and then get better and then come back here again to the Higher Level side of the NICU (further away from Em) and be put back on a ventilator. Kind of tragic, eh? This wont happen until I weigh in at a whopping 4 lbs.

Speaking of whopping...I keep giving my parents whopping heart attacks because I am still struggling with breathing. I had many cases of apnia (stop breathing) and brady carnia (heart stops) today...
Continue to pray for my parents, as they never know what I am going to throw at them when they walk into the NICU every morning...it's gotta be hard sometimes.

We'll all keep praying that you grow stronger and stronger everyday so that you can get back to your romance with Em and so that your parents can sleep better. You are doing so good little guy, keep up the fight!

Trevor, you were in very good hands. "Dr. Fabulous" (AKA Dr. Cutie Pie, Dr. Darling, Dr. Sweetie, etc.) watched over me and my two baby girls for three months while I was in the hospital and has remained a good friend ever since. You couldn't ask for a better doctor for delivery. You hang in there little guy and just keep practicing all those complex maneuvers like coordinating sucking, swallowing and breathing. It's complicated, but you'll get the hang of it soon and then your parents can relax a little. It's scary with all the alarms going off! Thinking of you and your mom and dad and sending lots of healing thoughts your way.

You are loved!!!! HUGGES, KISSES & CUDDLES!
Also you have something in common with your Papa, I had a Hernia operation when I was 50, you get to have one when you weigh 4 lbs.

Congrats on 6 milliliters! You are going to grow so big and so strong with all that good food.

I can't imagine how much hard work it is taking for you to keep yoursel healthy. I know it must be scary for you right now with all the tubes, lights, and alarms. Know that there are lots of us praying for you and above all that the Lord is with you, little warrior. You can do it because He is strong and able.

We love you. Take good care of your parents and give them a hug for me today.

So Grandson....my daughter told me you were a "Who". Well of course you are. You look up out of your condo and we big people look like elephants to you...we look like Horton...and Horton (big as he is) still can hear a "Who". That Dr. Seuss book came in today, so I am going to hustle it over to your Mom and Dad who like Horton are caring for you for all they are worth.
But for the record...let it be Grandpa who first reads it to you....you gotta hear the little squeaky voice on these words from the Mayor of Whoville: Horton asked him if there were buildings down on that little dust speck lying in a clover flower to which he replied, "Oh yes," piped the voice. "We most certainly do...I know," called the voice, "I'm too small to be seen but I'm Mayor of a town that is friendly and clean. Our buildings, to you, would seem terribly small but to us
who aren't big, they are wonderfully tall. My town is called Who-ville, for I am a Who, and we whos are all thankful and grateful to you."
So to all of Trevor's big friends, keep up your love and tender care and effective prayers, for One who is bigger than all of us is keeping a watchful eye on all His children. "It's a Wonderful Life"...but that's another story. Oh the places you'll go little big man!!!!
Love from Grandpa...Dr. Bruce

Might I say, Little Man, you are VERY witty for such a little guy, which leads me to believe that once you are through this tough time, there are BIG things in your future. Praying for your mighty soul and how you are being shaped today, tomorrow, and months to come!
