WE DID IT!!

I just got a call from Mary Birch this week and they said we are able to buy the crib! They were so very thankful and they are going to have a plaque made for the crib. Jeff and I are overwhelmed by all of your generosity. It has been so amazing to watch so many come together around a common purpose to do something really awesome for the babies in the NICU. What a blessing for our family to watch this community do something great together. Trevor's 1st Birthday will forever be memorialized. Thank you. You are all amazing.

'Nother Nonnie said...: Awww, T.J. I got the cutest picture of you and your folks today. Even though you didn't don a mask I just know you'd have chosen Pablo (my personal favorite Backyardigan). I check your blog fairly often cause you're such a handsome dude - and getting better looking all the time. But I have to say it's pretty cool to have a picture I can hold in my hand and admire you at will. Keep doing well, little love. I know you're going to be pudgy enough to please the doctors soon and in no time you'll be talking up a storm!

Our First Family Photo with Trevor

2008 was a challenging and amazing year, with Trevor Jalen Rose coming 3 months early and spending 80 days in the NICU at Mary Birch Hospital in February, then two months of quarentine at home with Trevor (staying away from all the potential germs), to Trevor's first's of learning how to eat without choking, rolling over and sitting up by himself. We have had many ups and downs, but with the prayers and support from our family and friends we have made it through and are thankful for our healthy baby boy. We have been so encouraged by how God has shown His love through you. THANK YOU!!!

Fun Facts about Trevor's Start in Life

-For the first month of life, Trevor's diaper was the size of your palm (and it was still too big)!
-His feet were the size of the top half of your thumb
-His fingers were the width of a toothpick
-The first time Tina fed him her milk, she had to use an small dropper
-Until Trevor is 2 years old, the doctor's will evaluate him according to his "corrected" or "adjusted" age. So, since he was born 12 weeks early, he is measured as a baby three months younger than his birth age. (i.e.: on February 16th he will be one year old, but his corrected age is 9 months).
