NICU Reunion, A special shower, and other notables

So, the NICU at Mary Birch Hospital had a reunion for all the babies who have ever had to stay there. The funny thing about reunions is that it seems like everyone is fatter and bald, but hey, were babies, so that's a good thing! :) Anyway, I got to see some of my girlfriends, my nurses, the doctors and a lot of other friends. Many of my friends are doing really well - I can't believe how BIG they are! Some of my friends are still having a hard time breathing or have minor health issues and still need our prayers. My mom and dad and I got to make a video together and my picture went into the scrapbook that will be there year after year. It made me think about how far I've come and how much I have to be thankful for. Here are some pictures from the day: Nicole and Erin sandwich!

My NICU pals!
Sophie and me

My girl Emily! I had to show off my abs in an effort to impress, and I think it worked, because she kept trying to hold my hand.

Annie is my hero! She is the one who first took me from the doctor when I was born and helped me start breathing!

Great Aunties Athalie, Barbara and Lynne threw my mom and I a very special shower. Thank you!!! Here are some pictures from the day:

Dad's best friend Eric (or Walkdog to some) just got married, so we took a family trip up to the LBC (Long Beach City) for the big day. Congrats Eric and Evo!!!

I FINALLY got to meet some very special friends:

World travelers Joe and Wanida (AKA: Joey Williams and Noodle) and . . .

World famous Brad and Kristy!

Here's me and my cousin Braydn when I had a sleepover at his house!

By the way, this drinking milk stuff is getting old . . . I am much happier when I am eating rice cereal! I am still working on my drinking issues, so I'll keep ya posted.

Update

Home from the doc - and we are going to try two weeks of Zanex to see if it helps with my eating . . . it's for reflux. If that doesn't work than they may have to run some more tests and also send me to the Occupational Therapist. We are praying this works! :)

Back to the Doc

Well, I have to head back to the Dr's again today, cause I am just not eating enough and now I have funny rash all over . . . can't seem to catch a break. The nurse said most likely we will have to be referred to an Occupational Therapist, who can help me figure out this eating thing. So, just keep me in your prayers today.

On a brighter note . . . our friend Heather took some family photos of us and over the next few blogs, I will share them with you. If you want to take a look at her blog, go to http://www.heatherstarrphotography.com/blog - she is amazing!

Hybrid Baby

So, my dad calls me the new 2008 Hybrid Baby, because I apparently need less fuel than most babies. The lactation specialist called it a nursing strike, and at first the doctor called it a developmental stage . . . but basically I am not that into eating. After over three weeks of it, mom took me back to the Doctor and I was sent over to Children's Hospital for some x-ray's on my stomach (not my favorite). The good new is the x-rays came back fine, but we still are not sure why I don't like to eat very often. But since I seem to be okay in all other areas, I guess I am getting enough . . . so hence the name Hybrid Baby . . . more miles to the gallon than those other milk guzzlers.

Do our heads look alike??

Shhhhh . . .

. . . don't tell my mom. Sorry it's been so long, but I had to wait till she took a nap, so I could sneak online & write to all my friends & family. If my mom found out that I could type then she wouldn't get so excited when I simply grab a toy or push up on my belly (and I love the way she claps for me). Oh yeah, I don't think she knows I can drive either . . . so keep that quiet! She has been keeping me busy . . . from my first trip to Sea World with my Aunt Jen and cousin Braydn . . .

A video of me cheering for Shamu!

To fun trips up to Pine Valley to see the fam, and giving some extra love to my cousin Christopher, who just fractured his elbow ( I got to sign his cast!).

To hanging at Nonnie and Papa's house, learning new tricks.

To all sorts of other fun stuff - like meeting some of mom's "Pals" and having a slumber party with auntie Amie and auntie Leedles, while dad was out of town.

Oh yeah, I had my Dr's visit and she said I am lookin good! I now weigh 13 lbs! She did refer us to a developmental specialist to make sure I am on track . . . so we will keep you posted.

And one last shout out to auntie Tina Wells . . . thank you for painting me the best picture EVER for my room. I love it!!

Until next time . . . . Lots of love!
